Doctor Shamsulhaq Ebadi
He was born in Kabul , Afghanistan in a family of a doctor. In 1973, he graduated from “Sherkhan High School” in the province of Kunduz. In 1970, he started his work in a drama theatre called “Nasher”. In 1973, he staged his first show “An ill-bred Boy” by Ahmad Dost played in Kunduz Women’s High School. In 1974, the premiere of his next performance “The New Wave” occurred, where it was based on the Amadja’s play. Since 1975, he worked as a Director and an Actor of a drama theatre in the province of Takhar (Afghanistan). In 1978, he staged a choreographic show “The Dances of Eastern Peoples”.
From 1978 to 1980, he staged 18 TV shows where the Kabul pupils were recruited as actors and dancers. In 1979, for the first time in Afghanistan he staged a mass choreographic theatrical performance to the music of A. Saburi at the Kabul National Stadium. Since 1981, he was involved in the administrative activity, where he was the Director of the Arts department in the Central Pioneers’ Palace in Kabul. In the same year he staged a mass choreographic dance to the music of a Russian song “Katusha” at the Kabul National Stadium.
In 1981, he entered the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) where he took the courses lead by professor S.A Gerasimov and T.F. Makarova.
In 1985, he shot his first television film “The Bridge” based on the film script of Yasin Khamosh, where he also played the main character. In 1986, he successfully graduated from VGIK where he received a diploma in Theatre and Cinema Actor. Having returned to Afghanistan in 1987, he played the main role in the film “The Early Dove” by director Yasin Khamosh. In 1987, he was called for military service in the Afghan army. There he staged a show “The Consequence” based on a play by Abdual Aziz. In 1988, he was appointed as an instructor for inspiring artists on behalf of the Cinematic Artists Association.
During this year, he directed and wrote the script of a TV film called “The Earth”. Having finished his service with the TV film “The Earth”, he returned to Moscow and began his post-graduate study in Professor A.V. Batalov’s Studio. In 1992, he played the main role and worked as a Director Assistant in Homayun Morowat’s film “The Green Ashes”. In 1993, due to the political changes in his motherland, Afghanistan, he immigrated to Germany. In 1995, he staged a performance based on Astrid Lindgren’s play “Mio, my Mio” in Mathinden School located in the city of Offenbach-am-Main (Germany). In 2003, he got a degree in the Doctor of Creative Arts in Sciences in Gerasimov University of Cinematography.
In 2008, he played a role in a TV series “The Weapon” directed by Alexander Kasatkin in Russia. In 2010, he played role in a TV series “The Hindu” directed by Alexander Kasatkin in Russia. In 2014 he played the central role in motion picture “Flight without Wings” directed by Hamayun Morowat. In 2014 he played role in TV serial “Legacy” directed by A.Kasatkin. In 2015 he was Jury member at the afghan international Film Festival in London. In 2016 he was Jury member in Austria international Film Festival, Innsbruck. In 2016 he was honored guest at the International Film Festival “Didor” in Tajikistan. In 2019 he played main role in motion picture “Narrative of a murder” shot in Germany, by director Nima Latifi.
